When Québec relocated to Denver, the Avalanche would never have expected to get quite the logo and jersey treatment I am about to show you.
***SPOILER ALERT*** It will never replace anything so long as the Avalanche are in Colorado.
This is the concept I promised you that you would see the final jersey set for based on yesterday's logo renderings.
Notice before I begin the new signature in the lower right corner. It is faded just like the logos on the opposite corner. Moving on, I wanted to use the jerseys I submitted to Justin and clean them up per his ideas for their potential. Second, I added the home jersey most recently used in Atlanta as the new alternate (I wonder what it looks like in Burgundy). The font you see is that of the Hurricanes in Carolina - after debate. That covers everything except for what's in store on the weekend.
The Mariners are in town all weekend to take on the Angels in Anaheim starting tonight. 10:05 (Hernandez vs. E. Santana), 9:05 (Vargas vs. Jer. Weaver), and 3:35 (Millwood vs. Greinke) PM respectively are the start times (all Eastern Daylight, -5 GMT) projected match-ups. Arsenal will have their final pre-season match at FC Köln in Lukas Podolski's return to his former club since being dealt to the Gunners about three months ago. That game is at 10 AM EDT.
The Boston Cannons look to get one more regular season win in Ohio after beating them at home last week 19-13. The win will ensure a playoff spot to the playoffs (at Boston {Harvard} this year - I'll be there regardless) as well as a tie-break with a Lizards win. A loss could see a tiebreaker with Long Island, Rochester, or both. Paul Rabil at the same only needs four points to set the new single-season MLL scoring record, the record is currently 71 points.
Montréal will bring their squad to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Revolution 7 PM EDT on Sunday. That should be everyone in action, We'll be back with regular stuff on Monday! Finally, the Arenabowl will be hoisted tonight as the Philadelphia Soul take on the Arizona Rattlers from New Orleans at 10:30 PM EDT on NFL Network.

I won't be in til Monday (company at my lakefront property and finishing painting the floor and accents - I hope), but I will have automated posts up for tomorrow and Sunday. In the mean time, I will quickly recap my sports weekend right now.
RG III in his first professional NFL game was in Buffalo last night. He went 3/6 in completions and had a touchdown pass (the only one for either team all game). This was also Mario Williams' and Vince Young's first games with the Bills. Young was 5/12 and 90 yards passing as well as 5 rushes for himself totaling 37 yards, including a long third down conversion in the third quarter for 21 yards. Williams started but had an easy day. Stats from this game can be found by clicking this link.
