So this will be the most interesting of the match-ups as this is Freo's third appearance in the finals since 2006 meanwhile the Cats are the reigning premiers and having been premiers in 2007 and 2009.
I've always liked the incorporation of the cat into the hoops of the jumpers. I thought of keeping the usual white color scheme, but then I was reminded of about a decade ago. The lighter shade of blue was used on a 2003 road guernsey, but only for two matches (at Collingwood and at North Melbourne). They lost both games - 18.8. 116 to 10.9.69 in round three to the Pies and 16.8.104 to 12.14.86 in round 17 to the Kangas (Geelong played both at home losing those as well). Unlike those jumpers, these do have a significant amount of white.
The Dockers on the other hand, are much plain, but that's on the back, a superimposed anchor on the front helps this a lot but I can't put anything else to it . . . the sock striping is based on the three white narrow Vs on their current jumpers, so do we turn them into hoops for the back? That seems most logical, but I will have to make do with this for now.
It feels nice to post at a regular time again! If only it may happen more often for the duration of the academic year.
