Maybe if the below concept was included for this past Winter Classic to go over the mask, then the title could have had some value. Locally, we saw Ryan Miller do it eight years ago at the Ralph. No matter, we're holding up our end of a promise from a couple months ago when Tuukka Rask was in town to take on the Sabres and I spotted him at the Tim Horton's inside HarborCenter. We tweeted his arrival and made mention we'd try to come up with a mask of some sort. For me, "Boston strong" came to mind. Have a look-see below.
As I determined, there felt a need to have iconic images in sports on the left half (though I didn't include the hardwood floor of the Celtics, instead I went with the Green Monster at Fenway Park. n the right, I stuck with the various logos of the non-Bruins teams in the Boston metro area, including the Boston Marathon logo to help tie in the theme better. The front is relatively self explanatory. "Tuukka Time" across his number and the Boston Strong stuff. On the back, his heritage flag and national team crest with the title of the Finnish national anthem, Our Land.
I think that though it isn't the strongest piece it could be, the powerful message behind it - a united city (and country to an extent) to resonate with Bruins fans, while well representing the team Rask plays for.
