A press release earlier this morning out of the ESPN offices in Bristol are reporting that from year to year, the NFL has game fixing that occurs behind the scenes. Long suspected but never previously detected dating back to 1986., this issue was never pressured by the media previously. This year confirms who will finish last for the first draft picks and who places in the playoffs. It does not disclose specific division winners unless they are the only representative of a division in the playoff picture.
The 1986 date was near the end of commissioner Pete Rozelle's term and four years after the introduction of current commissioner Roger Goodell to the league's executive offices. Though there were only few games in particular in question prior to Goodell's current tenure in 2006. This includes the hiring of Phil Luckett for the various games in which he has been shrouded in controversy prior to the given year. Since Goodell became commissioner, there have been notable games called into question, but it is mostly games that were not even near speculation to game-fixing that have been listed.
This year's proposed picture seems to have been approved. It confirms Minnesota and Carolina as NFC divisional winners (with a bye) and presumably Philadelphia and San Francisco. This would leave New York and Detroit as the wild cards that were mentioned. In the AFC the East will have two wild cards, introducing the Buffalo Bills as division winners as well as Cincinatti, Denver, and Tennessee with New England and Miami as the wild cards. It doesn't go to specific, but buffalo defeats Tennessee in the AFC championship while San Fransisco beats New York in the divisional round and Detroit in the NFC championship game.
Many storylines to follow as the Super Bowl entertains Chris Berman's famous "Swami Says" pick for the two teams competing in the Super Bowl from a quarter century ago. The road to get there is fairly interesting also as the Bills no only make the playoffs, but have to beat the last team they played in the post season nearly seventeen years prior while hinting that they should play Cincy to get to play them. In the NFC, you have San Francisco finally beating New York football Giants (seemingly to beat Philly in the wild card round in another playoff meeting) while the idea of Detroit making the big game is "toyed with" (probably setting that up for next year).
It is expected that the league is to organize a press conference by tomorrow afternoon by 3PM Eastern from the league offices in New York. Many are saying it will be 7PM tonight. But we will not be able to know whether or not the two previous commissioners and/or their staffs were in any way involved.
This article is a fictional release in the good spirited nature of the April Fools holiday in the United States.
