The first of August has brought upon us a competition courtesy of the Big Footy Forum's Theme Thursdays. There are two allowed entries per person, so expect another within the week. Note that my Big Footy avatar is used in the signature of the design template. This one is specifically a television inspired Theme Thursday. I had to follow suit with the only directions of including a jumper and shorts.
As you can see, this has many connections with the show and the actual area in which the show supposedly was set in - the Watts community of Los Angeles, California. The show, Sanford and Son, becomes the sponsor for the club as well as their adjacent hotel (in later seasons). The jumper itself comes from the flag of the city sans the city seal which is removed then reapplied as a screen-printed watermark. The logo is derived from the famous (and nationally registered) landmark the Watts Towers created by architect Simon Rodia who originally had named it Nuestro Pueblo. As for the TVFL logo - it was completely made up and was not provided by the competition.
