As you may remember, there was a Sanford and Son concept. Now, there is also a Doctor Who concept. unlike Sanford and Son, I have never seen an episode of Doctor Who. But here we go.
I think the ide is fairly obvious with the Union Jack, However, the sponsors are New Scotland Yard (based on the TARDIS used in the series) and BBC One (the channel which the series is currently broadcast). They first year of syndication was 1962 and, though it has no relevance to the series, The duke of Windsor was a former title in British royalty that was used from 1937 until 1972.
