The Mavs have been a curious franchise as far as identity is concerned, I went simple to solve this problem. In the meantime, the first handful of NBA games are only a few hours away. The Indiana Pacers open up in Toronto tomorrow but it will give me something to think about in the absence of the NHL (again).
Anyway, this division will continue tomorrow and I'm expecting the team to be the Rockets - who happen to be celebrating their 40th season.
