I'm not a particular fan of Keith Olbermann, but this is a shot at one of his quotes on his short-lived show that is ending this week Friday.

I knew of this as of half an hour ago: the NLL has another relocating franchise. Defending champions Edmonton will keep the Rush nickname as the go one province east to the city of Saskatoon, SK to be known as the Saskatchewan Rush out of the SaskTel Centre. This is what I understand will be introduced as the new logo. I will try to confirm them on Thursday.

This appears to be a very "rushed" logo, pun not intended, or rather "hurried: is a better way of putting it. While I do like the green, I don't know that it goes well with black and white though probably better than the silver. In addition I would have liked to see a new logo. The location name and "lacrosse club" font (called Viper Squadron Solid {I know it because I've had it on my laptop for a while for use in designing}) does not compliment the main script very well if at all.

As for the Georgia Swarm, I've recently visited their website and found that they will be renaming the mascot (Buzz) and is to be decided by a fan vote. I also discovered the revamped alternate logo.

All said and done, we still have the "two year" window that Commissioner Daniel discussed for expansion during the half-time at the Champions Cup final this year. I really hope Detroit is atop that list for old time's sake. The Swarm maybe should've wound up there . . .oh well a man can only dream.

The only note of business is that I have (through HJC no doubt) found a new blog from one of their newer writers, Brendan Poe. You can find that here and also our FoBNG tab. Today is actually a very lax day. How long this blog will last, I don't know. But you know, the more I do this "blogging" thing, the less and less it feels like blogging. Just me, but carry on about your business, I've distracted you enough This is not important compared to whatever makes you productive - be inspired!

Quorum for a Forum

As you will be able to see above, we are officially introducing the BNG forum. In it, you can guess that it will be similar to Chris Creamers Sports Logo Community and Big Footy. The point is that the forum can be a place for ideas to be exchanged amongst you the BNG viewership and contributors. Just as another outlet for expressing viewpoints, it was decided to move forward with this motion. Thank you for your continued support of BNG!

Atlanta: Sports Hotbed

Many professional sports leagues go through several changes. From expansions to relocations the landscapes of these leagues are always changing. This is for sure the case in the MLS where there is a new team on the block starting next year. Them being a team that will play in the city of Atlanta Georga which already has a few teams them being the Falcons (NFL) Hawks (NBA) and Braves (MLB). This teams name is Atlanta United and recently they released a new logo.
The logo is a circle with a outer ring that on the top portion of the outer ring says Atlanta while the bottom half says United FC. Withen the center of the circle has a large capital "A" with red and black stripes.
I really like this logo because how well the color of the "A" blends with the colors behind it that being red and black. Along with how the logo says the team name.  Cannot wait to see the uniforms.

A Senatorial Impact

We have a special announcement to make!

Yes, indeed - our newest addition to the BNG collection arrived a short while ago this afternoon! This was one of the more acceptable of alternates given its predecessor. That jersey was the red alternate which lasted two seasons before replacing the previous black jersey as the road uniform. This black alternate came one season following the above switcheroo and lasted through the 2004-05 lockout until the Reebok era began.

There's one more off the list. A few more are near completion but are not guaranteed (think DeAndre Jordan). This one however likely won't debut until the fall and the start of hockey season.
