West Coast Eagles to Rebrand; Retrofit Look

Thanks to our friends at Big Footy, this week's AFL Preliminary Final between (my) North Melbourne Kangaroos and the West Coast Eagles will be the final time the Eagles don their now infamous tri-panel. Win or lose, this is it for the current branding of the club, in which it is expected that current clash jumpers (the beloved "wings") will replace the current set, with minor revisions. This move would be similar to what the NHL's Buffalo Sabres have done recently. The Adelaide Crows are reportedly going to re-brand in addition to introducing a new away jumper, in which BNG has expressed interest in the re-brand process through Big Footy. The Eagles apparently would be wearing the wings clash jumper over the tri-panel if they beat the Kangas en-route to the Grand Final the following week.

As for the current state of things, I personally was disappointed in the lack of use of the orange accent in the brand. Despite the retro-fitting of the original logo, the royal blue will not be used as it appears that the current navy will stay. Just a side note, North made history by becoming the first eight seed to reach a prelim final.
