2015 AFL Power Rankings: Round 1

We've now gotten into full swing this campaign.

Pos.(LW){AFL}
  1. (1) {5} Sydney - Still a fine veteran team to get the job done.
  2. (2) {2} Hawthorn - Showing why they're repeat flag holders against a strong side.
  3. (5) {3} Richmond -  Good form always seems to rub off on the Tigers, they'll be getting a lot of that.
  4. (3) {18} North Melbourne - Showing inconsistency - it's going to be a long season for the Kangas and the supporters.
  5. (4) {10} Port Adelaide - I hate to say it, but Port may have been over-rated a couple seasons ago and stayed there.
  6. (7) {9} Fremantle - I can't imagine what would happen to this club when Pav retires.
  7. (6) {17} Geelong - Chris Scott's Cats started the way the ended finals.
  8. (8) {13} Essendon - Dons following suit with Cats, both losers to North in finals play.
  9. (10) {6} Collingwood - Good start propelling in to Round 4's ANZAC clash.
10. (11) {1} Adelaide - Their recent home form against North has been good, even with the switch to the refurbished Adelaide Oval.
11. (12) {7} Greater Western Sydney - Second home and away fixture GWS has won opening round fixture though against St. Kilda.
12.   (9) {11} West Coast - They'll get their annual drubbing of Melbourne by about a hundred in a few rounds.
13. (13) {14} Brisbane -  It was fun to see them barely make finals the other year. I'd like to see that again!
14. (14) {8} Western Bulldogs - New look, new confidence, same results.
15. (15) {16} Carlton - If they grab the wooden spoon, it means Mick is out mid season and no one better is available to help.
16. (16) {4} Melbourne - That Paul Roos, his Dees are about to begin their march to a possible middle sixth finish.
17. (17) {15} Gold Coast - They might pull a last seasons' Brisbane and do very poorly following a  season full of promise.
18. (18) {12} St. Kilda - And the quest for the wooden spoon has begun, but they won't be alone.

Kick After the Siren: Most of the teams that traveled west did not do very well, despite the extra rest with the exception of GWS. As for Port and Freo, matches between them I find most entertaining in the AFL seasons come and go.
